How to plan LED lighting for your factory

Solid industrial LED lighting planning follows these principles:

1. Ceiling height — under 10 feet: integrated fixtures or T8 tubes. 10-14 feet: high-power T8 or low-bay high bay. 14 feet and up: LED high bay required.
2. Light output required — 30 lumens/sq.ft for general warehouse, 50 lumens/sq.ft for production zone, 75-100 lumens/sq.ft for precision work (fine mechanics, quality control, welding).
3. Color temperature — 4000K for general comfort, 5000K for precision work and better industrial visibility.
4. Certification — CSA and cETLus required for insurance and compliance with Canadian standards.
