The photocell 120V with fixed ½-inch thread is a CSA-certified photocontrol designed to automate outdoor lighting for residential and commercial applications. Compatible with standard outdoor fixtures and electrical boxes featuring 1/2"-14 NPSM threading or 7/8" knockout holes, it delivers reliable dusk-to-dawn control without manual intervention.
This outdoor photocell sensor uses a mechanical bimetal switch paired with a cadmium sulfide (CdS) photocell. The sensor detects decreasing ambient light levels and automatically triggers the connected fixtures at nightfall. At sunrise, the circuit opens and the lights turn off without any manual input.
The built-in delay feature prevents unwanted switching caused by car headlights, lightning or other temporary light sources. This mechanism ensures stable and predictable operation throughout the night, eliminating undesired on/off cycling.
The CSA photocell ½ inch thread features a weatherproof gray plastic housing built for year-round outdoor exposure. Its 1/2"-14 NPSM fixed threaded stem ensures universal compatibility with standard North American outdoor fixtures and electrical boxes.
