How the LEDCO Builder tool works
The process begins by choosing the LED strip type: warm white, neutral white, cool white, RGB, RGBW or adjustable CCT. Then you select density (60, 84 or 120 LEDs/m), voltage (12V or 24V, depending on segment length), IP rating (IP20 for dry interior, IP65 for wet zones or covered outdoor, IP67 for exposed outdoor) and CRI (80 or 90+). Then you enter each segment's exact length in centimeters — for an 87cm kitchen cabinet section, you enter 87cm, not 90cm or 100cm. The tool automatically calculates the segment's total power, recommends the appropriate power supply size (with a 20% margin on rated power for stability and longevity), and suggests compatible aluminum profiles for that length and application. You can create multiple segments in one project and the tool calculates whether a single transformer can power all segments or whether multiple are needed.
Common Builder applications
The kitchen is the Builder's primary application: each lower cabinet section has a different length, inward corners require angle connectors, and total power must be calculated precisely to avoid supply overload. With the Builder, a homeowner renovating their kitchen orders in a single transaction all strip segments at exact cabinet lengths, matching profiles, angle connectors, end caps, mounting clips and calculated power supply — nothing to cut on site, nothing to adapt. Staircases are the second major application: each tread has the same width, but segments must be wired in parallel from a central power supply. The Builder automatically generates the recommended wiring diagram, the link cable length between each tread and the power post, and the required supply size.
Transformers, dimmers and home automation
Every Builder order includes one or more 24V LED transformers calculated exactly for the project's total load. An oversized transformer (with 20% margin) guarantees stable voltage across the entire system length, no buzzing and extended lifespan. LEDCO offers transformers in metal enclosures for electrical cabinet installation, slim models for restricted spaces above cabinets or in furniture frames, and IP67 models for outdoor installations. The Builder also integrates control options: simple push dimmer for single-zone installations without remote, IR or RF remote dimmer for residential installations, and Zigbee or Z-Wave controller for integration with Philips Hue, Google Home and Amazon Alexa home automation systems. RGBW strips ordered via the Builder come with a compatible RGBW controller and remote allowing color selection, ambient scene programming and independent white channel intensity adjustment.
