LED KITCHEN COUNTER LIGHTS ALMA
Kitchen counter lighting is one of the LED renovation projects that delivers the most immediate satisfaction. Good under-cabinet lighting transforms the work surface — chopping, cooking, preparing — into a functional and pleasant space, while adding a warm aesthetic touch to the kitchen. LEDCO offers LED strips and custom aluminum profiles for kitchen counter lighting, available in exact lengths through our Builder tool.
Under-cabinet aluminum profile — the clean, lasting solution
The low-profile recessed aluminum profile (type #86) is the reference solution for kitchen under-cabinet lighting. It mounts directly under the upper cabinet's base, flush with the furniture surface, with a matte diffuser cover that produces soft, uniform light across the entire counter. No visible hot spots, no exposed strip — the result looks like a high-end integrated fixture. The LED strip slides into the profile. Connection is made at the profile end with a discreet connector. For kitchens with multiple cabinet sections, profiles connect in cascade with short link cables that run through or along cabinet faces. Through our Builder tool, you order each profile section at the millimeter-exact length of your cabinets — 87 cm, 112 cm, 143 cm — eliminating on-site cutting and guaranteeing a perfect result.
Choosing the right color temperature for the counter
For kitchen counter lighting, 3000 K (warm white, slightly crisper than 2700 K) is generally recommended. It enhances food presentation, brings out the natural materials of the counter surface (wood, quartz, granite, polished concrete) and harmonizes with the kitchen's general lighting without creating too strong a contrast. For kitchens with 4000 K general lighting throughout, matching the under-cabinet profiles to 4000 K maintains visual consistency.
High-density LED strips for shadow-free illumination
LED density per meter determines under-cabinet lighting quality. A low-density strip (60 LED/m) creates visible hot spots and less-illuminated zones between LEDs. A high-density strip (120–240 LED/m) produces perfectly continuous, uniform light across the full counter length. Our under-cabinet profiles integrate high-density strips for results comparable to premium under-cabinet LED bars — at a fraction of the cost.
PK2000 puck lights for open shelving and display
Complementing under-cabinet profiles, PK2000 recessed fixtures install into open shelving, kitchen display cabinets or under a kitchen island. Their compact format and aluminum housing integrate discreetly into floating shelves to illuminate decorative objects, dishware or displayed bottles. High CRI on the PK2000 brings out the natural colors of materials and objects without distortion.
Simple installation, professional result
Installing a kitchen under-cabinet profile system is accessible to any DIYer: drilling a few holes for mounting clips, routing a low-voltage cable (12V or 24V) to the transformer hidden in the upper cabinet or under the sink, connecting profiles in cascade. In 2–3 hours, an entire kitchen can be equipped with professional counter lighting.
