The Wall Washer LED strip 24W/m (IP20) is a specialized lighting strip designed to produce a wall washing effect — a uniform bath of light projected onto a vertical surface to reveal its texture, color and depth. Running on 24V DC with a fixed color temperature of 3000K (warm white), it integrates a directional side-angle optic that projects light diagonally across the wall rather than straight forward, creating a soft, architectural light gradient impossible to replicate with a standard LED strip.

cULus certified and compliant with electrical standards in effect in both Canada and the United States, with a lifespan of up to 50,000 hours. Its IP20 rating makes it suitable exclusively for dry indoor environments, away from any water exposure.

Wall Washer Effect — LED Wall Grazing                     

Wall washing is a lighting technique where light is projected at a grazing angle across a vertical surface, creating a progressive gradient from top to bottom or side to side. Unlike direct lighting that illuminates a surface uniformly without revealing relief, wall washing accentuates textures, materials and architectural details — stone, concrete, wood, brick or textured plaster. The side optic built into this strip is specifically calibrated to maximize this grazing effect when installed recessed in a ceiling cove or cornice.

Performance and Installation                     

The side optic of this strip is designed to be installed in a ceiling cove or cornice, with the strip oriented parallel to the wall surface to be lit. For optimal wall washing, the recommended distance between the strip and the wall is generally 15 to 30 cm depending on ceiling height and desired effect. Its IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor environments only.

Installation inside an aluminum profile is recommended for improved thermal management and a clean architectural finish. Choose a profile suited to side emission so as not to obstruct the projection angle.
