The horticultural LED strip 16W/m (IP54) is a grow light solution specifically engineered for indoor plant cultivation. Running on 24V DC, it emits a targeted light spectrum combining red 660 nm and blue 450 nm — the two wavelengths most absorbed by chlorophyll, which directly stimulate photosynthesis, vegetative growth and flowering. Measured in µmol/m²/s (PPFD), the active photon flux of this strip is optimized to maximize light efficiency per watt consumed, where a standard white LED strip wastes a large portion of its energy on wavelengths plants cannot use.

In horticulture, grow light efficiency is measured in µmol/m²/s (PPFD) — the photosynthetic photon flux density reaching the crop surface per second. With its IP54 rating, this strip withstands water splashes and the high ambient humidity of growing spaces. It can be installed directly above plants, on shelving or metal structures, with no additional protective housing required. For improved thermal management in intensive installations, integration into an aluminum profile is recommended.

The recommended distance between the strip and the plant canopy varies by installation density and crop species. To maximize light penetration and PPFD at canopy level, mounting 15–30 cm above the plants is generally advised.

This LED strip consumes approximately 4.9 watts per foot. Simply multiply the total installed length by 4.9 to determine the required wattage.
