Outdoors, only waterproof puck lights will do: among our decorative LED puck lights, that is the #2000 family. These outdoor puck lights, such as the round #2000 puck light or its square, louver and directional versions, recess into a stone wall, a riser or a pergola post. On a step, it guides your feet without glare; on a low wall, it becomes a decorative feature in its own right. In warm white, it gives the patio the feel of a bistro terrace.
PAVO recessed light and PICO spotlights for the plantings
What surrounds the patio matters as much as the patio itself. The PAVO LED landscape light, a recessed landscape fixture, highlights a tree, a hedge or a border, while the PICO LED outdoor spotlight (12-24V) can be aimed at a shrub, a sculpture or a trellis. For the path leading to the patio, SCOOP landscape lighting (24V) marks the way. These fixtures are part of our low-voltage landscape lighting range.

Under a pergola or an awning, an LED strip turns the patio into an outdoor room. Outdoor LED strip, such as the 9.6W/m IP66 LED strip, slides into an aluminum profile fixed under the rafters or beams. The profile spreads the light evenly along the whole length, with no visible dots, and protects the strip from impact and weather.
With our custom LED designer, you order the strip at the exact length of your pergola, whether 6, 12 or 16 feet, and the profile is cut to match. The result: no cutting or soldering on site, and warm light that wraps the whole space.
Photocell and power supply: a patio that turns itself on
All low-voltage lighting, at 12 V or 24 V, needs a power supply to step down the house's 120 V. Outdoors, it must be waterproof (IP67); our 12V and 24V LED power supplies are chosen according to the total load of your circuits, from the steps to the pergola. For worry-free patio lighting, add the CSA-certified 120V photocell on the supply: the patio turns on at dusk and off at sunrise, with no timer to set.
18/2 wire, marettes and junction box: wiring that lasts
Patio lighting often ages through its connections rather than its fixtures. The 18/2 outdoor landscaping wire, sold in 100-foot rolls, connects the fixtures to the power supply. Silicone-filled marettes and the IP68 outdoor junction box keep every connection dry, even under melting snow.
Solar fixtures for corners far from the wiring
For a garden border or a corner far from an outlet, solar LED fixtures avoid trenching and wiring. The 19'' TULUM solar LED light marks a side path or highlights a flower bed; its built-in batteries recharge during the day and it switches on by itself at nightfall.
Technical tips for patio lighting
Light around the patio, not just on it. A lit tree or a glowing low wall makes the patio feel much bigger than a floodlight mounted on the wall.
Stay with warm white. A white of 2700 K to 3000 K suits stone, wood and plants; cool whites make it look like a parking lot.
One power supply, properly sized. Add up the watts of every fixture on the circuit and choose a model above that total.
Every connection in a waterproof box. Silicone-filled marettes and the IP68 junction box keep water away from the wires.
Leave some slack in the wire. A loop of wire near each fixture lets you move it as the plants grow.
