LED VERANDA LIGHTS

Veranda lights turn a transitional space into a true living room, pleasant in the evening and welcoming for guests. Enclosed glass veranda, screened three-season room, solid roof with a soffit, or wood pergola: each structure calls for a different light. LEDCO supplies the three families that do all the work: the LED strip in an aluminum profile along the beams and uprights, flex neon LED for the outlines, and recessed LED puck lights in the ceiling or the soffit.

Enclosed, three-season or pergola: three cases, three kinds of veranda lights

Before choosing a product, name your structure: it decides how much protection the fixtures need.

  • Glazed, heated veranda: an interior like any other; indoor strips, puck lights and profiles go in with no special constraint.
  • Three-season or screened room: humidity and frost get in; you choose outdoor LED strips and puck lights meant for outside.
  • Solid roof with a soffit: puck lights recessed in the soffit give the general light, the strip under the beams gives the mood.
  • Wood pergola: the strip runs under each beam; our LED lights for pergola page covers that case in detail.

In all four cases the rule is the same: you see the light, never the source.

LED strip in an aluminum profile along the beams and uprights

The most recognizable image of a modern veranda is the continuous lines of light running along the beams. You slide an LED strip into an aluminum profile with a diffuser mounted under each beam or in a groove. The light falls toward the floor and the table without glare, and the diffuser hides the dots. In 2700 K or 3000 K for natural warmth, or in RGB to change colour with the occasion. The profile protects the strip and draws its heat away; our custom design tool cuts profile and strip to the exact length of your beams.

Flex neon LED: the glowing outline that follows curves

To outline the veranda, frame the structure or create a glowing edge under the eave, flex neon LED is the most elegant answer. Its continuous silicone sleeve shows no dots: the light stays even along the whole length, even around a curve. The 6x6 mm top-bend flex neon and the 3x6 mm side-bend model slip into the smallest mouldings; the 16x16 mm RGBW flex neon adds colour for evenings.

Recessed LED puck lights in the soffit or ceiling of the veranda

When the veranda has a closed ceiling or soffit, in vinyl, aluminum or wood, recessed LED puck lights give clean, discreet general lighting. They recess like in an interior ceiling, aim their beam at the table or the deck, and disappear during the day. Combine them with the strip on the beams for two-layer lighting: general light from the soffit, mood from the beams.

Glass veranda and solarium: indirect light in the uprights

In an enclosed veranda with glass walls, a solarium or a winter garden, the lighting goes into the structure rather than the ceiling. Aluminum profiles sit in the channels of the uprights or on the crossbars, for an architectural finish with no visible wire. The indirect light reflects in the glazing at night and makes the room feel larger. In RGBW, you program colour transitions by season; in warm white, the veranda stays a living room.

PICO spotlights and the PAVO recessed light: tying the veranda to the garden

A lit veranda in front of a dark garden turns the glass into a mirror. A few points of light outside solve it: the PICO LED outdoor spotlight (12-24 V) on a tree or a shrub, the PAVO LED landscape light in the walkway or the flower bed. They connect to the same kind of low voltage as the strips, and the LED landscaping category gathers the wire, connectors and step lights.

Outdoor power supply, IP68 junction box and controller

All these fixtures run on low voltage and need a 12 V or 24 V LED power supply; for an installation outside, the LUVIA 100 W outdoor power supply hides in the structure or in a shed, and only the low-voltage wire runs along the uprights. Exposed connections go in a waterproof outdoor junction box IP68. For RGB or tunable-white strips, a controller with a remote from our LED dimmers and controllers sets colour and intensity from the patio chair.

Technical tips for veranda lighting

The power supply never sits in the rain. It goes in the structure, in a shed or inside the house, and the low-voltage wire does the travelling.

A three-season room is treated like the outdoors. Frost, condensation and humidity get in; outdoor strips and sealed junction boxes, as on a deck.

Measure each beam end to end. A line that stops before the wall shows right away; the design tool cuts to the length you ask for.

2700 K or 3000 K in the evening. That is living-room light; colour is kept for occasions, through a controller, not a second strip.

Light the garden beyond the glass too. Otherwise the windows become mirrors as soon as night falls and the veranda closes in on itself.

Veranda lights FAQ

Which veranda lights for a three-season room?

Products meant for the outdoors, because frost and humidity get in: outdoor LED strips in a profile, puck lights for outside, sealed junction boxes. The power supply itself goes under cover, in the house or in a shed. The result is the same as indoors, but it gets through the winter.

Can I use the same strip in the veranda and on the deck?

Yes, if it is a strip from the outdoor category. In a glazed, heated veranda, an indoor strip is enough; as soon as the space is open or unheated, use the outdoor version everywhere, so you have a single type of strip and a single power supply.

What colour temperature for a veranda?

A warm white, 2700 K or 3000 K: that is living-room light, and it is what you want in the evening. Colour, in RGB or RGBW, is added through a controller for special occasions.

How do I hide the wires in a veranda?

By following the structure. The low-voltage wire runs in the channel of the uprights or behind the beams, the power supply hides in an enclosure or a shed, and outdoor connections go in an IP68 junction box.

What about a wood pergola?

The strip in a profile under each beam remains the basis, with a power supply under cover. Since a pergola is open to the sky, everything is handled with outdoor products. Our page on LED lights for pergola covers the posts, the table and the no-electricity options.
