LED CONFERENCE ROOM LIGHTS
Conference room LED lighting hosts the moments that matter: negotiations, executive presentations, board meetings, video calls with clients. Poorly designed lighting puts shadows on faces and reflections on the lacquered table or the screen. A well-lit boardroom, on the other hand, changes scene in a single gesture. LEDCO supplies the fixtures to build it: three-white 2x4 LED panels, a 10W-18W linear recessed light, DLT trimless recessed lights, track spotlights and the dimmers that tie it all together.
Conference room LED lighting: three scenes, one installation
A conference room does not do just one thing, and neither does its lighting. Before choosing fixtures, name the three scenes it will have to play:
- Meeting: everything is on, the table receives even light from end to end, faces read well.
- Presentation: the table fixtures go down so the screen stays readable, the logo wall goes up.
- Video call: the light falls in front of the participants, never behind, and the same white everywhere avoids different skin tones from one face to the next.
Each scene matches a zone of fixtures and a dimmer setting.
2x4 LED panels along the table: the boardroom foundation
In a boardroom-format room with a drop ceiling, panels placed in a line above the table are the reference solution. Two to four 2x4 LED panels aligned with the table aim for about 500 lux across the whole surface, with no dark zones at the ends. Available in 36, 40 or 45W and in three colour temperatures, they adapt to the room without changing fixtures. The other LED panel light formats, 2x2 and 1x4, complete the ceiling around the table.
10W-18W linear LED recessed light: a line that follows the table
In a more architectural drywall ceiling, the 10W-18W linear LED recessed light draws a continuous line of light that echoes the elongated shape of the table. It lights documents and faces evenly while giving the room a more polished look than a grid of tiles. The goal: the person sitting at the end of the table should be as well lit as the one in the middle, with no glare on the surface.
DLT 4" trimless recessed lights: a clean ceiling around the table
Around the table and along the walls, discreet recessed lights complete the lighting without cluttering the ceiling. DLT 4" round trimless or DLT 4" square trimless recessed lights, at 12W, sit flush with the drywall and disappear: you see the light, not the fixture. Our full range of LED recessed ceiling lights also includes round and square 3" and 4" formats.
Track spotlights for the logo wall and the screen
A boardroom's back wall often carries the company logo, a screen or institutional signage: it deserves dedicated lighting. LED track spotlights, mounted on LED ceiling track lighting parallel to the wall, highlight it and reinforce brand image during presentations.
Dimming by zone: the table, the wall, the perimeter
Dimming is what turns three families of fixtures into three scenes. Choose dimmable fixtures, checking each model's spec sheet, and connect them by zone to LED dimmers and controllers: the table, the presentation wall and the perimeter. Each zone can then be adjusted independently, and the room goes from meeting to presentation in seconds, without touching a single fixture. For the offices around the room, our office LED lighting page follows the same logic.
Video call lighting: sharp faces in front of the camera
A camera is more demanding than the eye. For participants to look good on screen, the light should fall in front of them rather than directly above their heads, which is what panels and the linear recessed light along the table do. Also check that the fixtures you choose are flicker-free, a flaw the camera reveals right away. For a multi-purpose small-business room rather than a boardroom, see our LED meeting room lighting page as well.
Technical tips for conference room LED lighting
The light follows the axis of the table. Panels or linear recessed light are centred on the table, not the room; a person at the end of the table in half-light is the most common flaw.
Three dimming zones, not one. Table, presentation wall and perimeter are adjusted separately; a single circuit allows a single scene.
No spotlight aims at the screen. The track runs parallel to the back wall and lights the logo and the wall; the glass of the screen stays out of the spotlights.
One white throughout the room. Pick it among the three the panels offer and keep it for the recessed lights; two whites give two skin tones on camera.
Check dimming on the spec sheet before buying. A non-dimmable fixture on a dimmer flickers or will not go down; the data sheet decides.

Conference room LED lighting FAQ
What is the best conference room lighting?
The one that plays three scenes: even light on the table for the meeting, table fixtures that go down during the presentation, and light from the front for video calls. In practice: 2x4 panels or a linear recessed light along the table, DLT recessed lights around the perimeter, a track on the back wall, all by zone on dimmers.
How many lux on a conference table?
Aim for about 500 lux across the whole surface of the table, with no drop at the ends. Two to four 2x4 panels along the table get there in a boardroom-format room; we adjust the number to the length of the table and the height of the ceiling.
How do I avoid reflections on the screen and the lacquered table?
By placing the light along the axis of the table rather than in the centre of the room, and by aiming the track spotlights at the wall, never at the glass of the screen. During a presentation, the table fixtures go down, which removes most of the remaining reflections.
What colour temperature for a boardroom?
A neutral white, chosen among the three the panels offer, and the same one for every fixture in the room. On camera, two different whites give two different skin tones from one face to the next; a single white settles the matter.
Are the panels and recessed lights dimmable?
It depends on the model and the dimmer. Check each fixture's spec sheet before buying, and confirm with us that it is compatible with the dimmer or controller you choose. That is the condition for the three scenes to work.
