LED POOL TABLE LIGHTS
LED pool table lights have a precise job: to light the entire playing surface evenly, with no dark corners and without dazzling players as they lean in to aim. Success comes down to three settings: a height of 70 to 90 cm above the rail, a CRI of 90 or more and a white between 3000 K and 4000 K. LEDCO offers linear pendants, cylinders, track spotlights and recessed lights, from the finished basement to the commercial games room.
What a pool table lamp has to do
A poorly placed lamp creates shadows around the balls, a light hung too low gets in the way of high shots, and light that is too cold makes the room feel austere. The four requirements of good pool table lighting:
- Even light: the cloth is lit from cushion to cushion, corners included.
- No glare: the source stays out of the eyes of a player bent over the cue.
- True colours: the coloured balls are told apart without hesitation.
- The right height: low enough to focus the light, high enough for high shots.
Linear LED pool table lights, centred above the cloth
The classic solution remains an elongated pendant, ideally close to the length of the table, that sends uniform downlight all the way into the corners. The 4' linear suspended luminaire is centred along the table; for a longer table, two aligned fixtures cover the surface from cushion to cushion. Hang it 70 to 90 cm above the rail: the light stays focused on the cloth, and players keep full freedom of movement.
Adjustable tone and intensity: the 3CCT 0-10V dimmable linear
To clearly tell the balls apart, aim for a white between 3000 K and 4000 K: neutral enough not to distort the colours, warm enough to keep a friendly atmosphere. The 3CCT 0-10V dimmable LED linear pendant light lets you choose the colour temperature on the fixture and adjust the intensity from a 0-10V dimmer: full light during a serious game, dimmed light when the table becomes a gathering spot during a party.
Bidirectional: lighting the table and the room at once
The 4' bidirectional linear suspended luminaire sends light toward the cloth and toward the ceiling. The indirect light fills the rest of the room and reduces the contrast between a brightly lit table and a dark room, which is easier on the eyes of players waiting their turn. It is the right choice in a basement where the table sits in the middle of the room and its fixture also serves as general lighting.
Cylinders and pendants: a more decorative style
For a modern look, several cylinder pendants hung in a row recall the traditional billiard lamp while staying contemporary. The black 20W 3CCT cylinder pendant light offers three colour temperatures: set them all to the same value for even light on the cloth, and space them evenly along the length of the table. The 20'' suspended ceiling light for islands and tables gives a wider effect. The full range is in our LED suspended luminaires.
Track spotlights: the multi-purpose games room
When the room also hosts a bar, board games or a TV corner, LED track spotlights offer great flexibility. The adjustable heads aim at the table during a game, then turn toward other areas when it is not in use. A 4 to 8-foot track with three or four heads covers a table without a complex installation; tracks and connectors are chosen according to the table length and the shape of the room.
Recessed lights: the rest of the room
LED recessed lights around the perimeter light the spectators, the bar or the cue rack. In a basement with a low ceiling, the DLT 4" trimless recessed light stays discreet. For a commercial hall or a large basement, our integrated LED fixtures and our dimmers and controllers round out the installation.
Technical tips for pool table lighting
Centre on the table, not the room. If the table is off-centre, the table decides where the fixture goes.
Cover the length of the cloth. A source shorter than the table leaves the corners in the shade; two aligned fixtures beat a single one that is too short.
One colour temperature over the table. Every fixture above the cloth must be set to the same value, or the colours of the balls shift from one end to the other.
Keep the same white in the room. Recessed lights matching the main fixture smooth the transition between the playing area and the rest of the room.
Plan for a dimmer. The table serves for games as much as for parties: the light should follow.

Pool Table Lights FAQ
Can LED lights be used for pool tables, and what are their benefits?
Yes, and today they are the most practical solution. An LED fixture gives off little heat above the players, delivers even light along its whole length and, depending on the model, lets you choose the colour temperature and dim the light.
What are the best pool table lights?
For a standard table, a centred linear pendant close to the length of the cloth remains the benchmark pool table light fixture. A row of cylinders gives a more decorative style, as long as they are evenly spaced. For a large table, two aligned 4' linears cover the surface from cushion to cushion.
How high should a pool table lamp hang?
Between 70 and 90 cm above the table rail. Lower, the fixture gets in the way of high shots; higher, the light spreads into the room and the cloth loses uniformity.
What colour temperature is best for a pool table?
Between 3000 K and 4000 K, with a CRI of 90 or more. 3000 K keeps a warm games-room feel; 4000 K makes the colours crisper for demanding players. A 3CCT fixture lets you try both.
How do I plan the lighting for the whole room?
A fixture or a track above the table, then four to six recessed lights around the room, gives a professional and comfortable result. Contact our team with the table dimensions, the ceiling height and the size of the room: an advisor will help you prepare the plan.
