OUTDOOR LED FLOODLIGHTS
Well-chosen outdoor LED flood lights do two things at once: they secure the access points of a home or business, and they highlight what makes the property beautiful after dark, trees, a stone façade, low walls or flower beds. A few well-placed floodlights are enough for most properties. LEDCO covers the whole family, from the small 24 V floodlight for landscaping to the RGBW floodlight for façades, up to 120-347 V models for driveways and yards.
The whole family: which outdoor LED flood lights for which use
Before looking at spec sheets, place your need within the family; each use has its format:
- Tree, hedge or column: 24 V floodlight of 20 W or 30 W, staked in the flower bed.
- Shrub, sculpture, mailbox: small Pico floodlight, discreet by day.
- Façade in colour: RGBW floodlight, 15 W for one element, 50 W for the whole façade.
- Driveway, yard, side of the house: 30W-50W-60W floodlight connected to 120 V.
- Large parking lot, industrial yard, sports field: the high power family, on another page.
24 V LED floodlights 20 W and 30 W: low-voltage accent lighting
24 V floodlights connect to an outdoor power supply and low-voltage wire, which makes them easy to install in flower beds and around the house. The 24V 20W LED floodlight highlights a medium-sized tree, a hedge or a column, while the 24V 30W model takes on a mature tree or a section of façade. Aimed upward from the ground, uplighting brings out the structure of the branches; installed in a tree and aimed downward, moonlighting imitates moonlight filtering through the leaves. For a natural result, several moderate floodlights are better than a single overpowered one.
Pico outdoor floodlights: small beams for the details
For shrubs, perennials, a sculpture, a fountain or a mailbox, a small, discreet floodlight is enough. The Pico 12-24V outdoor LED floodlight slips into a flower bed and goes unnoticed during the day; the Pico V2 and the original Pico complete the family. In warm white, these small beams create a garden atmosphere evening after evening. Other flower bed fixtures, such as the Luna and the Scoop, are in our LED landscaping section.
RGBW LED floodlights 15 W and 50 W: colour on demand
A façade in green for St. Patrick's Day, red for Christmas, blue for the Fête nationale, then white the rest of the year: RGBW floodlights change colour with the seasons and events. The RGBW LED floodlight 15W colours a tree, a column or an entrance, and the RGBW LED floodlight 50W covers an entire façade or a large tree. Their white channel also allows everyday white lighting. Our project "RGBW outdoor LED floodlight, sphere", shown in our accomplishments, shows what colour can bring to a landscape.
LED floodlight 30W-50W-60W: driveway, yard and garage
To light the driveway, the backyard, the side of the house or the parking area of a small business, the LED floodlight 30W-50W-60W connects to 120 V and accepts up to 347 V in commercial settings. Mounted under the eaves or on the façade, it lights access areas and deters intruders. A 120V photocell installed on the circuit turns the lighting on at dusk and off at dawn, with no timer to set. For mounting on a wall, on the ground or on a pole, see our brackets for LED floodlights.
100 W outdoor power supply and 18/2 wire: powering a 24 V floodlight circuit
A 24 V floodlight system relies on a good power supply and wiring made for the outdoors. The 100W outdoor power supply powers several small floodlights, the 18/2 outdoor landscaping wire, sold in 100-foot rolls, links the fixtures together, and the IP68 outdoor junction box protects connections from water. Install the power supply out of direct rain, for example under an overhang.
Technical tips for placing your floodlights well
Several moderate floodlights rather than one strong one. The light stays soft, the shadows keep their depth, and one failure does not plunge the whole property into darkness.
Hide the source, show the subject. A floodlight sits back, behind a shrub or at the foot of the wall, so you see the lit tree and not the lamp.
Stay with warm white in a garden. Foliage and stone look better; keep colour for special occasions, with an RGBW floodlight.
Add up the watts before the power supply. Every 24 V floodlight on the same circuit counts, and the power supply must keep a margin.
A photocell rather than a timer. It follows the seasons on its own: on at dusk, off at dawn.
Have a large parking lot, an industrial yard or a sports field to light? These large areas call for more powerful models, gathered in our high power LED floodlights section and explained on our powerful outdoor LED floodlights page. To underline a façade or a sign with a stroke of light, see our outdoor LED spotlights instead. For every other project, contact our team with a few photos of your property: we will help you choose the number of floodlights, their wattage and their placement.

Outdoor LED flood lights FAQ
What are the best outdoor LED flood lights for a house?
The ones that match the subject to be lit. For a tree or a hedge, a 24 V floodlight of 20 W or 30 W; for a façade you want to colour, an RGBW; for the driveway and the yard, the 30W-50W-60W on 120 V. A complete property often combines all three.
24 V or 120 V floodlight: how do I choose?
24 V goes in the flower beds with an outdoor power supply and low-voltage wire, with no electrician needed for each fixture. 120 V connects to the house circuit, under the eaves or on the façade, and suits access areas. In a business, the 30W-50W-60W accepts up to 347 V.
How many floodlights does a tree need?
A single 24 V 20 W floodlight is enough for a medium-sized tree; a mature tree takes the 30 W, or two floodlights placed on either side to add depth. Several moderate beams always do better than one beam that is too strong.
Do RGBW floodlights also light in white?
Yes. Their white channel serves for everyday lighting, and colour is kept for holidays and events. The 15W and 50W models cover one element and a whole façade respectively.
How do I turn my floodlights on automatically?
With a 120 V photocell installed on the circuit: it turns on at dusk and off at dawn, with no timer to reprogram as the seasons change. On a 24 V circuit, it goes upstream of the outdoor power supply.
