OUTDOOR LED LIGHTING
Outdoor LED light fixtures are seen by day as much as by night. Mounted on the façade or under the porch, they become part of the architecture of the house or the business and welcome visitors once the sun goes down. The choice is made in two steps: the direction of the light, then a style that suits the siding, brick or stone. LEDCO offers wall fixtures, an IP65 wall light, 120-347V cylinders, a house number light and wall washers.
Down, up or both: the first decision
Before you look at models, look at your wall. The direction of the light completely changes the effect on a façade, and it is what determines the right fixture:
- Downward: the light falls on the threshold and the steps, with no glare. It is the classic choice for an entrance.
- Up and down: two beams draw on the wall and emphasize the height of the façade.
- On the porch ceiling: a cylinder lights the whole sheltered area with clean, direct light.
- Across a whole wall: a wall washer bathes stone or brick in light, in white or in colour.
Once the direction is chosen, the style follows: round or square shapes, black finish, compact or elongated format. The whole range is in our LED wall light fixtures.
Bidirectional wall fixtures in 10, 14 and 18 inches
A bidirectional fixture sends light up and down at the same time, on each side of a garage door or a main entrance. The 14-inch bidirectional outdoor LED wall fixture is a good starting point for a house. The 10-inch version suits a lower wall or a balcony, and the 18-inch model a tall façade or an apartment building. For a narrow wall, the 8-inch outdoor LED wall fixture lights downward in a more compact format.
The 13W 3000K IP65 wall light beside the front door
Beside the door, the 13W outdoor LED wall light in 3000K warm white welcomes visitors without glare. Its IP65 rating matches the recommended minimum for a façade exposed to rain and snow. Warm white suits a home entrance and the edges of a deck; for security lighting on a commercial façade, 3000K to 4000K is the usual target. Install one light on each side of a double door, or a single one on the handle side of a single door.
The 3CCT LED cylinder: on the porch ceiling or the wall
The 3CCT outdoor LED cylinder mounts on a porch or canopy ceiling, or directly on the wall. Its clean shape suits contemporary façades, and its colour temperature is chosen from three settings, so every cylinder on the same façade can be matched. Its 120-347V range also makes it a good fit for businesses and apartment buildings. Under a wider roof overhang, damp-rated LED recessed lights take over.
A house number you can read at night
A house number that can't be seen at night makes life harder for visitors, delivery drivers and emergency services. The 5CCT LED house number light lights the address clearly. Its five colour temperatures let you match it to the other fixtures on the façade, and its 0-10V dimming adjusts its intensity in a building equipped with a control system. Paired with a photocell or a timer, it turns on at dusk without anyone thinking about it.
RGBW wall washers: the façade in colour
To highlight stone, brick or columns, LED wall washers bathe an entire wall in light. The #WW1 (60W), #WW2 (36W) and #WW5 (40W) models are RGBW, while the #WW6 (40W) is RGB: the façade can switch from white to a brand colour, or follow holidays and events. The 3-channel DMX controller, which handles up to 50 RGB wall washers, and the 3-channel DMX decoder keep everything in sync. It is a popular solution for businesses and buildings meant to be seen from afar.
Technical tips for choosing outdoor LED light fixtures
IP65 for an exposed façade. It is the recommended minimum wherever rain and snow reach the fixture directly.
One colour temperature for the whole façade. The 3CCT and 5CCT models let you set the cylinder, the house number and the wall lights to the same white.
Warm white for a home. 3000K feels welcoming; move toward 4000K for security on a commercial façade.
Put the wall light on the handle side. A single door needs only one; a double door is framed with two identical wall lights.
Leave the heavy lifting to wall packs. For service doors, side walls and the perimeter, LED wall packs take over, often with a photocell.

Outdoor LED Light Fixtures FAQ
Which outdoor LED light fixtures work best for a front entrance?
A warm-white wall light, such as the 13W 3000K IP65 model, placed on the handle side or on each side of a double door. If the façade is tall, a 14 or 18-inch bidirectional fixture also emphasizes the height of the wall. Under a porch, a ceiling-mounted cylinder completes the look.
What IP rating does an exterior fixture need?
On a façade exposed to rain and snow, IP65 is the recommended minimum. Under a well-sheltered porch or canopy, exposure is lower, but always check the rating on the product sheet before ordering.
Can every fixture on the façade be matched to the same colour?
Yes. The 3CCT cylinder offers three colour temperatures and the house number light offers five: set them to the same white as your wall lights. The result is a consistent façade, with no fixture looking bluer or yellower than the others.
Do I need powerful outdoor LED light fixtures for security?
For the perimeter, yes, but that is not the job of a decorative wall light. Wall packs and floodlights cover service doors, yards and parking areas, in a cooler white. Our outdoor LED lights page presents them zone by zone.
How do I switch façade fixtures on at dusk?
With a photocell, which turns them on at dusk and off at dawn, or with a timer. The house number light also accepts a 0-10V control system. For a complete plan, contact LEDCO with a photo of your façade.
