LED WAREHOUSE LIGHTING

See the products ↓

The most cost-effective LED warehouse lighting is not the kind that stays on from morning to night: it is the kind that fully lights the aisle where a forklift operator is working and leaves the others on standby. In most warehouses, the aisles are empty most of the time. Switching to LED is the chance to rethink that logic zone by zone. LEDCO supports you with high bays from 85W to 400W, PIR and microwave Bluetooth sensors, wireless controls and NEMA 4X vapour-tight fixtures for washdown areas.

PIR Bluetooth sensor for high bays: light the aisle in use

The PIR Bluetooth sensor for LED high bays pairs with the fixture and responds to motion in the zone it monitors: when a forklift or an employee enters the aisle, the light responds; when the aisle empties, the lighting is dimmed or switched off depending on the chosen settings. In low-traffic aisles, it is the most direct way to cut consumption without getting in the way of the work. It also comes in a black version for dark ceilings, and an L-shaped swivel base, white or black, lets you aim it at the zone to cover.

Microwave sensor and its remote: adjust without bringing out the lift

The microwave sensor for LED high bays is another detection technology, offered for the same fixtures. Its companion, the remote for LED high bay sensors, lets you adjust the settings from a distance: a real advantage when the fixtures are far above the floor and you would rather not bring out the lift to change a time delay. The choice between passive infrared (PIR) and microwave depends on the racking layout and the mounting height; our team guides you from your floor plan.

One control per warehouse zone

A warehouse does not need the same light everywhere, nor at the same time. The zones we separate in a warehouse LED lighting plan:

  • Racking aisles: high bay with sensor, full power when someone passes, standby afterwards.
  • Mezzanines and shipping office: ceiling sensor with 0-10V dimming.
  • Picking area: continuous light during working hours, controlled by a wall switch.
  • Washed or dusty zones: sealed vapour-tight fixtures.
  • Service doors and docks: doorway wall packs and warehouse lights outside, on at night.

Ceiling sensors and Bluetooth 0-10V controls: mezzanines, offices and docks

The lower areas are managed with ceiling sensors. The ceiling PIR Bluetooth sensor 120-347V with 0-10V dimming adjusts the intensity of compatible fixtures, while the on/off version simply switches them on and off. To control fixtures by zone, the range includes a Bluetooth 0-10V wireless fixture controller, a Bluetooth 0-10V power pack with a 20A relay and Bluetooth wall switches with 2 or 6 buttons. The 4-button wireless wall switch, battery powered, goes wherever you need it, even on a column. We confirm with you that each component is compatible with your fixtures.

UFO and linear high bays from 85W to 400W: one wattage per zone

The receiving area, the high storage aisles and the picking zone have different needs, and our range of LED high bays covers them: UFO models at 90W-120W-150W, 180W-200W-240W and 240W-270W-300W, and linear models from 85W to 155W, from 200W to 270W and from 320W to 400W. Each model offers several wattages, which makes it easy to adjust LED warehouse lighting from one zone to the next. To choose between UFO and linear by ceiling height, see our page on warehouse LED lights.

4' 60W NEMA 4X vapour-tight fixture: damp, washed or dusty areas

Wash areas, sections cleaned with water and very dusty zones call for a sealed fixture. The 4' 60W multi-watt 120-347V NEMA 4X LED vapour-tight fixture is made for these environments, and the 8-foot CCT vapour-tight version covers long rows of standard-height racking. In low-ceiling picking aisles, where a high bay would be oversized, these linear fixtures spread light along the shelves and make labels easier to read.

Doorway wall pack and emergency lighting: service doors and safety

Outside, every service door deserves light that shows the lock, the threshold and the steps. The 9W-12W-15W doorway LED wall pack and its 20W-25W-30W version are made for these doors. For façades and truck yards, the full cut-off wall pack, from 25W to 120W depending on the model, directs light toward the ground rather than the sky or the neighbour. Round out the building's safety with our LED emergency lights: self-contained units, remote heads and exit signs.

Technical tips for LED warehouse lighting

Note the hours of use of each zone. An aisle visited ten times a day and a picking area occupied all day are not controlled the same way.

One sensor per fixture in the tall aisles. It is the one that sees the forklift coming; a single sensor at the end of the aisle reacts too late.

Prefer dimming to switching off. An aisle that drops to black is startling; a standby level followed by full power is safer.

Keep the microwave sensor remote in the office. It saves you from bringing out the lift to adjust a time delay.

A sealed fixture where you wash. An open high bay above a wash area fouls up; NEMA 4X is made for that.

Among the projects shown in our accomplishments: an industrial warehouse fitted with 300W high bays and the Vera Trima project, with 240W high bays. Contact LEDCO with your warehouse floor plan and the hours of use of each zone; we will propose fixtures and controls suited to your operations. For smaller rooms, our page on LED motion sensor lights complements this one.

LED Warehouse Lighting FAQ

PIR or microwave: which sensor for a high bay?

The PIR (infrared) reacts to the heat of a person or a forklift moving in its field; the microwave sensor detects motion differently and is adjusted from a distance with its remote. Send us the plan: we will tell you which one suits each aisle.

Can a sensor dim instead of switching off?

Yes. The ceiling sensor with 0-10V dimming adjusts the intensity of compatible fixtures: a standby level when the zone is empty, full power when someone passes. The on/off version only switches on and off.

Do I need a lift to adjust the sensors?

Not for the microwave sensor: its remote adjusts the settings from the floor. It is worth considering at purchase time when the fixtures are mounted very high.

Which LED warehouse lighting for a zone washed with water?

A sealed fixture: the 4' 60W multi-watt NEMA 4X LED vapour-tight fixture, or the 8-foot CCT vapour-tight version for long rows. They stand up to dust, condensation and washdown.

How do I control several zones from one spot?

With the Bluetooth wall switches with 2 or 6 buttons, or the battery-powered 4-button wireless switch that mounts even on a column. Each button drives a zone defined with the 0-10V controllers.
